A Peruvian Expedition: The Majestic Machu Picchu!

Updated: Jul 15, 2018

We arrived at this iconic, authentic archaeological enigma on March 31, 2012. Machu Picchu is unbelievably mesmerizing! This Incan citadel up high the Andes mountains of Peru and above the Urubamba River reveals spectacular views! This City in the Sky is 8000 ft. above sea level, and is 50 miles northwest of Cusco, Peru. In this high altitude, it is a mystery how the Inca's are able to build this city and the approximately 200 stone terraces, as well as the purpose of building it. The Incas abandoned this city in the early 16th century. Some theories came out that this Inca ruins were built by aliens.

“It took us twelve hours flight from LAX to Lima, Peru (with a connecting flight to Houston, TX), another hour and a half flight from Lima to Cusco, heart palpitations caused by Cusco's high altitude of 11,500 ft., an hour and a half bus ride from Cusco to Peru Railways train station, a two-hour train ride to Aguas Calientes, another half an hour bus ride to the entrance of Machu Picchu, and a strong pair of legs to hike and climb to see this amazing world wonder called "Machu Picchu"! .”
